We are looking for a Transactional Property Counsel with ECC (Electronic Communications Code) experience to join a busy and collaborative Legal & Compliance team supporting a high-volume estates and infrastructure programme.
This is a hands-on role providing end-to-end legal support across a range of property transactions, with a strong focus on telecoms infrastructure delivery, process efficiency, and stakeholder collaboration.
About the Role
You will support the transactional legal function by managing a varied caseload of property matters from instruction through to completion.
A key focus of the role is delivering legal support to the Estates programme, including responsibility for completing Code Agreements, leases, licences, and freehold acquisitions in line with agreed heads of terms.
You will work closely with Estates teams, internal legal colleagues, and external solicitors to ensure smooth and timely transaction delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Management
- Receive and review agreed Heads of Terms and ensure instructions are correctly actioned
- Liaise with Site Provider Solicitors and internal Estates colleagues to progress transactions
- Draft transactional documents using established templates and guidance notes
- Manage the full end-to-end lifecycle of transactions through to completion
Negotiation & Legal Delivery
- Negotiate property agreements with external solicitors within agreed parameters
- Ensure all documentation is aligned with internal legal standards and risk frameworks
- Support completion and post-completion formalities in line with internal procedures
Freehold & Telecoms Work
- Support telecoms lease transactions aligned with the Electronic Communications Code (2017)
- Assist with freehold acquisitions (including acquisitions of part), due diligence, and post-completion work
Systems, Reporting & Stakeholder Updates
- Maintain accurate case records across internal systems and ensure progress is clearly tracked
- Provide regular updates to senior legal and Estates stakeholders
- Support reporting on caseload progress, milestones, and key risks
Legal Team Support & Collaboration
- Contribute to wider Legal & Compliance team activities, including meetings, supplier engagement, and knowledge sharing
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process development
- Support internal training and cross-functional collaboration
About You
We are looking for a qualified solicitor with a strong grounding in commercial property law, Electronic Communications Code and a proactive, detail-focused approach.
You will bring:
- A qualified solicitor with a practising certificate – England and Wales Qualified
- 2–3 years’ PQE in commercial conveyancing transactions, particularly landlord and tenant matters and freehold acquisitions
- Experience working with the Electronic Communications Code (2017)
- Strong understanding of the conveyancing process and landlord & tenant law
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach
Desirable:
- Exposure to in-house legal environments
- Understanding of property litigation
