About the Opportunity

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, growing engineering and service business operating across the North West and Midlands.

The company specialises in the installation, servicing and maintenance of commercial security and access solutions for a wide range of customers. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to appoint an experienced Service Coordinator to become the central point of their operations team.

This is a fast-paced, varied role where you’ll coordinate engineers, support customers and help ensure jobs are delivered efficiently from enquiry through to completion.

The Role

As Service Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for keeping the service operation running smoothly. You’ll manage engineer schedules, coordinate reactive and planned works, communicate with customers and suppliers, and support the operational process through to invoicing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys organising people, solving problems and working in a busy service environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule field-based engineers for planned maintenance, repairs, servicing and installation work
  • Manage engineer diaries and prioritise reactive customer call-outs
  • Produce and issue daily job schedules and work instructions
  • Prepare and issue customer quotations
  • Raise invoices following completion of works
  • Order parts and liaise with suppliers to ensure engineers have everything required
  • Handle incoming customer enquiries via telephone and email
  • Maintain accurate records using the company’s job management system
  • Keep customers updated on appointments, job progress and completion
  • Liaise with engineers throughout the day to ensure work is completed efficiently
  • Provide general administrative support to the operations team

About You

You’ll be an organised, proactive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a Service Coordinator, Scheduler or Operations Coordinator role
  • Experience scheduling field-based engineers or mobile workforces
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience within engineering, facilities management, fire & security, HVAC, construction, utilities, manufacturing, maintenance or another field service environment
  • Experience preparing customer quotations
  • Experience raising invoices and ordering parts
  • Experience using job management software such as Big Change or similar systems

Industry-specific product knowledge is not essential, as full training will be provided..
