Responsibilities
- Ensuring the accommodations, facilities and common areas in the Resort are well‑maintained, meet company standards for functionality and appearance, and explore ways to improve their look, occasionally collaborating closely with Purchasing and Construction on projects.
- Coordinate and plan workforce activities to ensure sufficient staff to meet all daily maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely administration, keeping up‑to‑date records and files.
- Conduct emergency ad hoc maintenance as required, including out‑of‑hours calls.
- Implement regular performance management with team members to ensure essential skills for an efficient maintenance service.
- Explore new work systems within the department to improve service quality and/or reduce overall costs.
- Maintain in‑depth knowledge of all resort systems and operations.
- Tour the property daily and perform regular weekly inspections of units and the property to ensure outstanding quality for owners and guests.
- Coordinate and supervise special projects, including renovations and remodels throughout the property in conjunction with Corporate Construction and Purchasing.
- Lead and mentor a team, identifying training needs and ensuring effective execution of all tasks.
- Work five days over seven, 40 hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts on a shift/rota basis.
Qualifications
- Relevant management experience with the ability to lead, mentor and identify training needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
- Proven understanding of timeshare or hotel operations.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with tailored in‑house systems, iPads and handheld technology.
- Detail oriented with a proven track record of starting projects and finishing them on agreed timelines.
- Experience with a safety management system – fire safety, fire marshal experience and water testing.
- Demonstrated transferable skills in plumbing, electrics and carpentry.
- Previous experience in a leisure/hospitality based function with recreational water facilities.
- Multi‑property experience.
