Site Services Engineer

Location: Preston. Salary: Circa £44,000. Working hours: Monday – Friday | Double Days (6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm).

A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a Site Services Engineer to join its growing engineering team. Following continued investment, increasing customer demand, and a number of exciting growth projects, the business is enjoying a sustained period of expansion and is looking to strengthen its site services function.

As a Site Services Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the site’s facilities, infrastructure, and utilities, ensuring all building services operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site services and building infrastructure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot utilities including HVAC systems, compressors, boilers, pumps, lighting, water systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Support the upkeep of manufacturing facilities, offices, welfare areas, and external site infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors when required, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve site efficiency, reliability, and energy performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Support site improvement projects, installations, and capital investment activities.

About You

The successful Site Services Engineer will have previous experience maintaining building services, facilities, or utilities within a manufacturing, industrial, production, or commercial environment. You will be a proactive engineer with strong fault‑finding capabilities and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

  • Experience working as a Site Services Engineer, Facilities Engineer, Building Maintenance Engineer, Utilities Engineer, or similar.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of building services, site utilities, and facilities maintenance.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively within a fast‑paced environment.
