Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Investment Analyst to take a lead role in investment underwriting, due diligence, financial modelling, portfolio reporting, and borrower relations. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, the ability to conduct in-depth credit analysis, the ability to write investment memoranda that focus on the key economic and risk drivers, and demonstrate leadership in mentoring junior analysts. This role will work closely with the Investment Committee and analyst team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead credit evaluation and diligence of underlying borrowers and collateral.
  • Deliver investment memoranda to the Investment Committee that focus on the key economic and risk drivers and mitigants.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Lead the operations functions for borrowers, including evaluating drawdown requests and monitoring for compliance with agreements.
  • Evaluate performance of financing facilities and forecast out future expected cashflows.
  • Prepare repots to the Investment Committee to keep it apprised of individual financing performance.
  • Prepare portfolio level forecasts and reports to identify areas of concentration, evaluate overall performance and forecast future cash flow.
  • Act as primary liaison with borrowers, understanding their business and ensuring that we remain a value-added partner for them.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing feedback and contributing to their professional development.
  • Work with service providers and borrowers, including lawyers, experts, software developers, administrators, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist in building and improving financial tools, processes, and procedures to enhance infrastructure.

Strategic Contributions

  • Stay current on developments, products, and industry trends that could impact the firm’s investments.
  • Support the firm’s strategic objectives by conducting thorough industry analysis and producing high-quality investment research.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in specialty credit evaluation, preferably in a legal or an insolvency setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree or CFA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in private investment analysis or related fields.
  • Proficiency in complex financial modelling and investment analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and research skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and investment principles.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
