We are a fast‑growing firm with big ambitions – we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision touches everything we do, motivating and inspiring us to become better every day. Our Consulting business brings together diverse advisory experts to deliver six core solutions: Business Transformation, Forensic, Deal Services, Restructuring, Finance Function Support and Risk and Governance.
Make an Impact at RSM UK
With a bold and ambitious strategy for the next phase, we are expanding our Consulting Operations team to enable client‑facing teams to focus on delivering exceptional client service. As part of this plan, we are introducing a more structured and coordinated approach to strategically important internal projects, spanning marketing, finance, people and digital, and are looking for a talented operator to help drive that forward.
This is not just a project management role. Alongside driving forward complex, cross‑functional projects that involve multiple stakeholders that rarely follow a straight line, you will get hands‑on with day‑to‑day operations, designing solutions, completing tasks directly for senior leadership and contributing to delivery, not just coordinating it. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable managing the moving parts of a project and rolling up their sleeves to get things done.
Reporting to our Consulting Projects and Operations Manager, you will be a strong communicator and self‑starter who enjoys working in a fast‑paced but supportive environment. We are particularly looking for proactive, hands‑on individuals who drive momentum and help ensure our priority projects move from intention to implementation.
Where this role fits and key responsibilities
You will be a core member of Consulting Operations, the operational centre of our Consulting business, enabling client‑facing teams to focus on delivering exceptional work.
You will make an impact by:
- Supporting or delivering multiple live, complex operational and workforce projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum across all of them even where scope and timelines are not yet fully defined.
- Supporting and/or running various BAU activities such as Consulting’s Major Opportunities and Bids improvement process and events planning.
- Working closely with project leads across the business to keep workstreams on track, proactively identifying blockers and helping teams work through them.
- Acting as a confident and credible point of contact for senior stakeholders, communicating clearly on progress, risks and priorities.
- Supporting the Consulting Projects and Operations Manager in embedding our new project management approach, owning project documentation, status updates and reporting.
- Holding project leads to account for progress and ensuring leadership has the visibility it needs across the project portfolio.
- Being readily deployable across a range of Consulting Operations priorities, including leadership events and other key activities run out of the team.
What we are looking for:
Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning new things, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies in everyday life and are passionate about making improvements, this role is perfect for you! We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
- Comfortable with ambiguity. You do not need a fully defined project plan to make progress. You are able to assess what needs to happen next, take initiative and bring others along with you.
- Confident and credible in senior stakeholder environments. You communicate clearly and articulately, can hold your own in a room with senior leaders, and are trusted to represent the team professionally.
- Experience working within a professional services environment, supporting the delivery of internal projects within a relevant function or as part of a central team.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with an ability to track progress, flag risks and keep projects visible even when they do not follow a linear path.
- Clear and confident written and oral communication skills, with high proficiency in MS Office and a strong interest in developing digital skills and use of AI.
- A problem‑solving, can‑do mindset, proactive, inquisitive.
What we can offer you:
We recognise that our people are our most important assets. That’s why we offer a flexible reward and benefits package that will help you have a fulfilling experience, both in and out of work.
- Hybrid working
- 26 Days Holiday (with the option of purchasing additional days)
- Lifestyle, Health, and Wellbeing including financial wellbeing benefits such as financial tools, electric car scheme and access to a virtual GP
