Band C Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry for LSCFT Dental Services: 0.6 WTE /22.5 hours per week over 3 days.
Band C: LD21 £101,434- £116,573 Pro rata and commensurate with experience and previous NHS SPCDS employment.

Job Location: Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) Dental Services. The post is within the Specialist Dental Service and is based in East Lancashire sites providing paediatric dental services; including the provision of sedation in community settings and paediatric exodontia and comprehensive dental care in theatre under general anaesthesia.
Main duties of the job
This salaried position will provide routine and urgent paediatric dental services to those referred to the LSCFT Specialist Led Paediatric Dental Service. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing conscious sedation for paediatric patients
- Leading on the provision of treatment under general anaesthesia (GA)
- Supporting the clinical triage of referrals
- Providing leadership and management support for the dental team
- Delivering paediatric exodontia and comprehensive dental care in theatre
- Providing services in community settings
Qualifications
- Post registration qualifications in Paediatric Dentistry
- Dental indemnity insurance
- Full GDC registration without restriction
- Included on Performers List of England without restrictions
- On the GDC Specialist Register for Paediatric Dentistry
Knowledge
- Experience of treating paediatric patients under LA, sedation and GA
- Clinical leadership experience in dentistry
- Knowledge of NHS PDS Regulations
Experience
- Broad based professional background
- Evidence of continual professional development both general and role specific
- Experience of providing special care dentistry within a secondary care setting
- Evidence of clinical and non-clinical leadership and management skills
