Job Overview
The job holder will support the Head of Education, Skills and Work (HoESW) to ensure that the establishment regime and education curriculum meets the needs of prisoners and contributes to the reduction of re‑offending. The education, skills and work function provides strategic focus on learning, skills and qualifications in all areas of activity, with an emphasis on employability, education and training on release.
Responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for managing the procurement, delivery and performance of a range of contracted services within the Prison’s Education, Skills and Work function and will need to collaborate effectively with other members of the team to discharge their duties.
Qualifications
- Experience of working within a learning environment.
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders.
Eligibility
- UK nationals
- Nationals of the Republic of Ireland
- Nationals of Commonwealth countries who have the right to work in the UK
- Nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members of those nationalities with settled or pre‑settled status under the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS)
- Nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members of those nationalities who have made a valid application for settled or pre‑settled status under the EUSS
- Individuals with limited leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS on or before 31 December 2020
- Turkish nationals, and certain family members of Turkish nationals, who have accrued the right to work in the Civil Service
