JOB DESCRIPTION

Levitate Recruitment is currently working with a leading advisory firm in London that is looking to strengthen its Forensic Accounting team with the addition of a Manager.

This is a varied role covering forensic investigations, dispute advisory work and litigation support. The position would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail of complex financial matters, but who is also comfortable managing assignments, supervising others and communicating findings clearly to clients and advisers.

You will work on a broad range of matters, which may include fraud investigations, shareholder and commercial disputes, insolvency-related claims, asset recovery matters and the review of financial transactions. The work will require strong analytical ability, sound judgement and the confidence to identify what information is needed to progress an investigation.

As Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of cases. This will include planning work, allocating tasks, reviewing financial analysis, liaising with clients and legal advisers, and ensuring assignments are delivered within agreed timescales. You will also be involved in preparing written reports and presenting conclusions in a clear, balanced and professional manner.

The role will also offer the opportunity to support the continued growth of the team. This may include mentoring junior staff, contributing to internal development initiatives, assisting with client relationships and taking part in networking and business development activity.

Key duties will include:

  • Managing forensic accounting assignments across investigations, disputes and litigation-related matters.
  • Reviewing financial records, transaction histories and supporting documents.
  • Identifying key lines of enquiry and determining what further evidence or information is required.
  • Analysing the movement of funds, ownership structures and asset positions.
  • Supporting work connected to insolvency investigations and potential claims.
  • Preparing financial analysis for use in reports, advisory work and dispute matters.
  • Assisting with loss assessments, valuation issues and quantum calculations.
  • Drafting clear and well-structured reports setting out findings and conclusions.
  • Coordinating work across internal teams, clients, solicitors and other professional advisers.
  • Monitoring budgets, deadlines and case progress.
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff and providing practical guidance.
  • Supporting the wider team through training, development, process improvement and business development activity.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in forensic accounting, investigations, disputes or litigation support.
  • Experience supervising or managing team members.
  • Strong financial analysis and report writing skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments without losing sight of key deadlines.
  • Confidence dealing with clients, lawyers and other stakeholders.
  • A practical, investigative mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to review work, give clear feedback and support junior colleagues.
  • A professional and flexible approach to client work.

Additional experience that would be useful includes:

  • Insolvency investigation or contentious insolvency experience.
  • Exposure to fraud, asset tracing or complex funds flow analysis.
  • Experience working alongside legal teams.
  • Relevant additional qualifications or training, such as fraud investigation, expert witness, e-discovery or blockchain analytics.
  • Additional language skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Forensic Accounting Manager who wants to work on high-quality forensic assignments while developing their management, technical and client-facing experience within an established London team.
