Majestic Wine in Leamington Spa is seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and driven individual to join as a Trainee Manager. This 12-month development programme will prepare you for a future Store Manager role.
The Role
As a Trainee Manager you will work through a training programme with the support of your Store Manager, gaining a detailed understanding and experience of all operational, service and leadership standards expected of a future Majestic Store Manager.
- Type: Permanent Contract
- Commitment: 44 hours per week, including weekend shifts
- Location Flexibility: Must be willing and flexible to travel to and support surrounding stores, including Cardiff and Cardiff Bay
Key Requirements
- Driving: Operate a company van; must be confident driving larger vehicles.
- License: Full UK manual driver’s licence held for at least 12 months.
- Availability: Full flexibility to work weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and optimising KPI performance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to drive business growth through loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer customers a VIP concierge service, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings.
- Sell the story, not the discount, sharing passion for product through tastings and a commercial tasting counter.
- Maintain and expand wine knowledge, actively working toward WSET qualification.
- Take ownership of the store’s physical appearance and maintenance, both internally and externally.
- Participate in all operational tasks to understand day-to-day operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, legal and internal policy requirements, completing mandatory training.
- Take ownership of own development, using available resources.
- Model Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior team members, providing feedback to Store Manager.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to every customer.
- Strategic problem-solving and prioritisation in high-pressure environments.
- Self-motivated and able to thrive alone and as part of a team.
- Can-do attitude with passion for solving problems.
- Adaptable and resilient to changing business demands.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Wine knowledge beneficial; passion to learn needed to achieve WSET level 2 & 3.
- Hold a full UK manual licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
