A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Planning Solicitor to join its growing Planning, Highways & Environment team based in Northampton.

The Opportunity
Following significant investment and expansion of the planning practice, the team is continuing to grow and is looking for an ambitious solicitor who wants genuine breadth of work, close partner interaction, and the opportunity to develop a specialist profile.
You’ll work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team advising a broad client base across both contentious and non-contentious planning matters throughout the development lifecycle.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being involved in live development projects, tackling complex planning issues, and working closely with colleagues across Real Estate and other practice areas to deliver practical commercial advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious planning matters.
- Supporting clients on highways and environmental law issues affecting development projects.
- Negotiating and advising on planning obligations, highways agreements and related documentation.
- Assisting clients in overcoming legal barriers to development and project delivery.
- Advising on matters involving compulsory purchase and associated planning considerations.
- Developing technical expertise while contributing to knowledge sharing across the wider team.
- Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services across the firm.
