The Role

The PMO Analyst supports the successful delivery of projects and programmes by providing governance, reporting, and coordination across stakeholders. The role focuses on tracking project performance, maintaining delivery standards, supporting planning and risk management activities, and ensuring accurate reporting to enable informed decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Support project and programme governance activities in line with agreed PMO standards and frameworks.
  • Track and report on project status, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Maintain and update project plans, RAID logs, and delivery artefacts.
  • Support financial tracking, including budget monitoring, forecasts, and variance reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute management reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and reviews, including documentation of actions and decisions.
  • Support change control processes and ensure updates are reflected across plans and reports.
  • Work closely with project managers and delivery teams to support effective execution.

Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience

  • Strong understanding of project and programme management practices and PMO governance models.
  • Hands‑on experience with project tracking, reporting, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in PMO and project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Good understanding of RAID management, dependency tracking, and change control.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience

  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting within projects or programmes.
  • Exposure to portfolio‑level reporting and senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks and ceremonies.
  • Experience supporting large or complex programmes.
  • Relevant project or PMO certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).
