Overview

We have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Service. We are looking to recruit either a Senior Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist depending on experience.

Salary

Occupational Therapist: £39,151 – £42,838 per annum

Senior Occupational Therapist: £42,838 – £47,181 per annum

Pay band and salary will be dependent on your experience. As a Senior OT you will be highly experienced and will be expected to demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning.

Your new role

Based in the Community Rehabilitation Service (CRS), you will join a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Case Coordinators and Rehabilitation Assistants working collaboratively to deliver coordinated interventions. The service supports individuals with a broad range of conditions, from simple to highly complex, with the aim of maximising independence and improving quality of life.

We are looking to recruit either an Occupational Therapist or a senior Occupational Therapist to work as part of the service delivering high quality, person-centred occupational therapy assessment and intervention to individuals to maximise independence and remain safely within their own homes. For the Senior Occupational therapist, you will be delivering to individuals with complex and often urgent needs.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive multidisciplinary team, contributing to rehabilitation, reablement and recovery-focused care in a dynamic community setting. You will undertake holistic assessments of individuals’ functional abilities, environmental factors, and support networks, developing practical and personalised interventions that support both immediate needs and longer-term independence. You will work with increasing autonomy, supported by senior clinicians, developing your clinical reasoning, prioritisation and decision‑making skills within a fast‑paced service.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will carry out comprehensive, holistic assessments of individuals’ functional abilities, environmental factors, and support networks, identifying personalised and creative solutions to meet both immediate and longer‑term needs. Interventions will be delivered across community and home environments. You are expected to work autonomously, using advanced clinical reasoning skills to make independent decisions regarding patient care, risk management, and intervention planning. The role requires confident prioritisation and management of a complex caseload within a fast‑paced and rewarding service.

Who Is The Person Summary

You will have a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification (Diploma, BSc or equivalent recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists) and a current HCPC registration. You will have knowledge of adult social care eligibility criteria, assessment and treatment planning skills for a varied caseload and evidence-based recording skills. With strong communication skills you will be able to work on your own initiative, organise your workload effectively and respond to competing demands.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be motivated and committed, with a passion for supporting individuals to maximise independence and improve their quality of life. You will have an interest in developing skills in supervision, mentoring and supporting others and experience of or willingness to develop skills in equipment provision and moving and handling.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be highly experienced with a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care within a fast‑paced, integrated health and social care service. You will demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning, the ability to manage complexity and risk, and confidence in autonomous decision‑making across a varied and demanding caseload.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes would be required as you will be transporting equipment across the city.
