Job overview

We are looking for a Senior Social Worker with extensive mental health knowledge, educated to degree level, who has completed AMHP training and is currently registered.

We are looking for people to join us to continue to build a successful service. We aim to continuously improve the service delivery and outcomes as a part of NSFT.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide clinical leadership to the clinical team in the care, treatment and therapy of the client group, with a clear focus on clinical risk and its management.
  • Influence, lead and motivate staff at all levels within the clinical environment to deliver high quality care.
  • Provide expertise, support and advice to clinical practitioners regarding all aspects of clinical care including implementing best practice based on evidence-based practice and National Guidance.
  • Sustain the clinically based training programme aimed at the development of staff within the clinical environment.
  • Provide information, education and support for service users and their carers re coping with diagnosis and treatments.
  • Interpret national guidelines and relevant research to inform local practice and procedures to achieve best practice.
  • Maintain own expert status by developing training and improvement projects underpinned by research and legislation.
  • Be a member of the Trust Senior Nursing team and contribute to relevant forums and meetings.
  • Be able to travel independently.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Specialist knowledge and training of working with young people to Master level or equivalent.
  • Current AMHP approval.
  • Recognised professional assessors/mentor qualification.

Other

  • Ability to travel to all Trust locations if required.

Experience

  • Experience of working with individuals presenting with complex needs requiring multi‑agency care packages informing practice and MDT working.
  • Experience of working in mental health.
  • Experience of running psychotherapy groups with young people and parents.
