We wish you all the very best with your application.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our in-house Estates Maintenance Team, helping to maintain and support critical infrastructure across the Sussex Police Estate.
In this varied and hands‑on role, you will carry out electrical repairs, planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and minor installation works on single and three‑phase electrical systems and associated equipment. As part of the Estates Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance and reactive works, ensuring equipment is serviced, maintained, tested, and calibrated in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and organisational policies and procedures. Your expertise will contribute to the reliable operation of police facilities that support frontline and operational policing.
Customer service is central to this role. You will regularly liaise with internal stakeholders to understand reported faults, provide technical advice, and keep customers informed on progress and outcomes. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to build effective working relationships are therefore essential.
