We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the therapy team across our community bed bases in Bolton supporting patient transport. The role involves driving the therapy van to facilitate discharges, as well as performing therapy assistant duties when required by the service. The post holder will be expected to work a seven‑day roster.
We emphasise staff wellbeing and training. Successful candidates will receive professional development support and regular supervision to support their development and wellbeing.
As a member of the wider multi‑disciplinary team, you will work alongside and support specialist therapy staff in transporting patients to and from destinations. The purpose of this role is to support the therapist(s) to ensure patients receive the best care possible.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the vehicle for use and transport patients to and from hospital, bedded units and home of choice.
- Assist patients with access.
- Perform therapy assistant duties as required by the service, under the guidance of therapy staff.
- Undertake administrative tasks related to the workload.
- Support the Community Services Division’s aim to avoid hospital attendances and admissions by responding to health and social care issues in the community, providing intensive therapy and reablement packages to support patients’ independence.
The Community Services Division employs more than 1000 staff who deliver 40+ services, including IV therapy, diabetes and care for homeless and vulnerable adults.
