Job Title: Year 4/Year 5 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Lewisham, London
Pay Range: £115 – £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time
ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lewisham to hire a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support across the school and occasionally cover classes, ensuring pupils continue to receive high-quality learning in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities of HLTA
- Support teaching and learning across the primary phase.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
- Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (essential).
- Have experience working within a primary school setting.
- Be confident leading whole‑class learning when required.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
- Maintain high expectations for pupil progress and behaviour.
- Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
