Job Title: Apprentice Rigger

Location: Port of Grangemouth

Compensation: £18,000

Overview

Apprenticeship program focused on rigging and supporting cargo operations at the Port of Grangemouth.

What you will learn

Alongside qualifications, you will receive hands‑on experience as part of the rigging team. This includes managing and separating cargo using dunnage and timber, operating, testing, inspecting and maintaining lifting equipment, securing loads for transport, and supporting cargo operations on the quayside. You will also learn how to construct timber frames and undertake a variety of timber‑related tasks, while gaining exposure to wider port operations that contribute to the safe and efficient movement of cargo through the port.

What are we looking for

  • A minimum of three National 5 qualifications including Nat 5 Maths, Nat 5 English and Nat 5 in a Technical Subject
  • Individuals who are able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the work that we do at the port, and are looking to build valuable skills for your future career
  • Full UK working rights
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred; candidates actively working towards obtaining their licence will also be considered
