About the role

Dna Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a growing children’s residential care provider seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Manager for a brand-new children’s home in Swadlincote. This is a unique opportunity to join a service from the very beginning and play a key role in shaping a nurturing, stable, and child-focused environment for up to four children and young people aged 7-17 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the home through Ofsted registration and ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic home environment.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a dedicated residential care team.
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Oversee safeguarding practices and promote positive outcomes for children.
  • Build effective partnerships with local authorities, schools, healthcare professionals, and families.
  • Manage admissions carefully to maintain placement stability.
  • Produce high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement and prepare for Ofsted inspections.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within children’s residential care.
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory, deputy, or management capacity.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted SCCIF.
  • Experience preparing for or participating in Ofsted inspections.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
