A leading Tier One Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Lead to join its high‑performing team, delivering a flagship data centre project in West London. This is a senior, client‑facing role at Associate Director level, offering the opportunity to lead complex, high‑value works within one of the fastest‑growing sectors in construction. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the mechanical package from pre‑construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical delivery strategy across a major data centre project
  • Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Oversee design development, technical reviews, and value engineering processes
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations
  • Drive programme performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Act as the primary mechanical lead in client and stakeholder meetings
  • Support commercial teams in cost control, procurement, and reporting
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project engineers and site teams

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record in delivering large‑scale data centre or mission‑critical projects
  • Extensive experience in a senior mechanical leadership role within a Tier One or major contractor environment
  • Strong technical expertise across mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling, pipework, and associated infrastructure), commissioning, and integration
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
