Overview
We are looking for an experienced and data‑driven Product Manager to lead the development of our Search and Browse API capabilities within the Discovery team. This hybrid, full‑time, permanent role involves 36 hours per week and can be based from Farringdon or WGC offices. This is a critical role that drives how customers find, explore, and engage with products across all Tesco markets and propositions. You will shape the product vision, strategy, and execution of scalable, API‑based services and intuitive customer experiences that impact key business and customer metrics. Apply by 10‑Jul‑2026.
Responsibilities
- Dive deep into complex data sets to uncover actionable insights and emerging trends. Use these findings to drive data‑informed decisions that maximise product value and support long‑term strategic goals.
- Design and scale intelligent, low‑latency product discovery services. Continuously tune algorithmic parameters to optimise relevance, performance, and personalisation at scale.
- Lead the evolution of domain‑specific APIs, while thoughtfully deprecating legacy interfaces. Ensure seamless transitions with minimal disruption to consumers and clearly quantify the value of API modernisation initiatives.
- Identify and champion new opportunities to apply advanced search and browse capabilities across diverse markets, platforms, and digital channels, enhancing the reach and versatility of discovery experiences.
- Translate business goals, user needs, and market dynamics into a forward‑looking product roadmap. Prioritise initiatives that deliver measurable value, enhance agility, and position the organisation for future growth.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Data Scientists, to execute the roadmap using agile practices. Facilitate prioritisation, resolve blockers, and ensure customer‑centricity is woven into every feature, sprint, and release.
Qualifications
- Experience working across both backend and frontend product areas, with the ability to move confidently between technical platform work and customer‑facing journeys.
- Curiosity and comfort working with technical systems – particularly APIs – and the ability to translate that understanding into clear product direction.
- Experience delivering within complex, fast‑moving product domains where multiple initiatives run in parallel.
- Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams, including the ability to engage in technical discussions and shape decisions in an API‑driven environment.
Benefits
- Annual bonus scheme of up to 20% of base salary.
- Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus bank holidays).
- Private medical insurance.
- 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave at full pay after 1 year of service, followed by 13 weeks of statutory maternity or adoption pay, and 6 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
- Free 24/7 virtual GP service, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for you and your family, free access to a range of experts to support your mental wellbeing.
