What You’ll Do
The apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of skills working in both forest and other habitats. The role involves manual work outdoors in all weathers in the forest environment. The job is varied and wide ranging, requiring close team working and enthusiasm.

Where you’ll work
West England Forest District is responsible for the sustainable management of over 37,000 ha of land in the West and South‑West of England. From ancient woodlands in the steep valleys of Cornwall, to the majestic veteran oaks of Savernake; from the spruce plantations of the high moors of Dartmoor, to the Douglas fir stands in the Welsh Marshes, and with the stewardship of the historic Forest of Dean. West Forest District covers a vast range of habitat and woodland types. You will be based at the Bullers Hill office in Devon, working alongside existing craftspersons and the beat team to gain practical experience across our Mid Devon and Dartmoor beats.

How To Apply
You will be asked to write a 200‑word statement on your relevant experience and career history, along with a personal statement of no more than 500 words. You will be assessed on both during sifting.
You will be assessed on a technical skill during your interview.
