Overview

We are currently recruiting for 2 Facilities Operatives to support a specialist education trust across multiple sites in Sunderland and Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and proactive individuals who take pride in maintaining safe, secure, and well-presented environments. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting the day-to‑day operational needs of various education settings across the Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general site maintenance and repairs.
  • Support the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and facilities across multiple locations.
  • Undertake health and safety checks and report any concerns.
  • Assist with site security, opening and closing procedures where required.
  • Support with room setups, deliveries, and movement of equipment.
  • Ensure sites remain clean, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Travel between sites across Sunderland and Newcastle as required.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle is essential.
  • Previous facilities, maintenance, caretaking, or site support experience is desirable.
  • Good practical and DIY skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work across multiple locations.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
