The Role

Lead the planning and delivery of customer and internal projects at our Alnwick site, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met. Acting as the central point of contact, you will build strong relationships with clients and internal teams, keeping projects on track and proactively resolving any challenges. This role plays a key part in driving commercial performance, improving processes, and providing clear visibility across the project portfolio.

Main Tasks

  • Create and manage clear project plans, timelines, and resource schedules
  • Run project kick-offs and coordinate regular client and internal meetings
  • Keep all project documentation accurate and up to date
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide regular updates, managing expectations on deliverables and timelines
  • Respond to client queries quickly, escalating where needed
  • Identify and manage risks and issues through structured logs and registers
  • Ensure projects follow governance processes and meet contractual requirements
  • Support and manage change orders, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Monitor budgets and track actual versus planned effort
  • Spot scope changes early and initiate change control where needed
  • Contribute to cost control and overall project profitability
  • Update systems and dashboards to give accurate, real-time project insights
  • Prepare concise progress reports for stakeholders and clients
  • Support continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice sharing

Qualifications and experience required for competent performance

  • Proven project management experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or scientific services
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience using project management tools such as PSA systems and Gantt charts
  • Commercial awareness with a good understanding of budgeting and cost control principles
