What you’ll be responsible for
This role is a Maintenance Technician that is electrially bias.
Maintaining, repairing and installing equipment as part of the main MEI teams, working individually or as part of a team. Able to fault-find, rectify problems with electrical systems and all ancillary equipment. This will include:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems generally
- Demonstrating an ability to read, understand and work from electrical drawings
- Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation to ensure performance of all assets
- Actively taking part in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues
- Identifying problematic plant and the subsequent faults and taking part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working orde
- Identifying requirements of spares and materials using preferred suppliers
- Completing all job cards and timesheets to allow for monitoring of workload, performance etc
- Providing knowledge, information and onsite support for Welsh Water capital teams and operational teams
- Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business
About you
- Experience of working with pumps and variable speed drives
- Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
- Knowledge of industrial processes and of fixed and variable speed motor control
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and find and repair faults on electrical circuits
- Solution focused approach to resolving problems
- Ability to take responsibility make decisions and uses initiative, working proactively
- The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the team is required for this role
- Compliance with current standards and legislation i.e. BS7671: 2018, 18th Edition IET regulations
- An excellent understanding of safe working practices and of planning and scheduling of work processes
- Communication and ability to influence othersWorking as part of a team
- Critical thinking to be able to analyse information and provide a solution to situation effectively
Good to know
- Standby will be expected once relevant training has been completed, 1 week in 4.
