Requirements
- We are looking for someone with experience working within an information security team or compliance function.
- We need an understanding of information security risks faced by data-driven organisations.
- You should be able to work with a high degree of independence and integrity.
- We are looking for an understanding of information security standards such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
- We value an understanding of HMG and National Cyber Security Centre information security policies and information assurance governance.
- Professional qualifications aligned to the role, such as ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CISM, CISA or CCP, are desirable, or willingness to achieve them through a targeted development plan.
- We need good awareness of information security, compliance or risk principles.
- You should have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to engage with a range of stakeholders.
- We expect excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow agreed processes to deliver consistent, compliant outcomes.
- You should be able to work with integrity, independence and professionalism.
- We need a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A good understanding of new technologies and their relationship with security, privacy and resilience is desirable.
- Understanding of UK data protection legislation is desirable.
Responsibilities
- We support the maintenance of our Information Security Management System and ensure it meets the requirements for ISO 27001 compliance.
- We oversee matters related to physical security within our Datchet office and supplier security assurance.
- We attend internal and client-facing Security Working Groups and project meetings.
- We facilitate internal security compliance activities.
- We maintain the security management plan for client security assurance.
- We coordinate and manage information security incidents in line with our organisational policy.
- We advise and assist business areas on information security, resilience and compliance issues, and promote awareness of good practice.
- We contribute to information security training and awareness materials as directed.
- We support the wider Information Security and Resilience Team.
- We contribute to continuous improvement in audit and related security management matters.
- We maintain knowledge of current security, legal and regulatory practice and proactively propose updates to policies, procedures and practices when required.

We are hiring an Information Security Officer to join our Information Security, Assurance and Resilience team at our Datchet, Berkshire site. This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working, requiring a minimum of two days onsite each week and additional office attendance during induction. The role offers a salary of £38,000 to £48,000 per annum depending on experience and skills, plus a discretionary annual 5% bonus.
