IKEA Milton Keynes are looking to welcome a Carpenter to the team.
A Carpenter transforms raw wood into the backbone of the showroom—building walls, platforms, and raised floors, and cutting and shaping materials like MDF, plywood, and panels to bring each space to life.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Start Date: July
- Salary: £29,577 per annum (subject to discussion)
- 39 hours a week, Monday–Friday, shifts 06:30–15:00 (flexibility subject to discussion)

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations/Site Carpentry or equivalent (e.g., HND, NVQ in Carpentry)
- Previous carpentry experience in a commercial or retail environment, ideally retail fit‑out or exhibition installations, with good attention to detail
- Experience in tiling and flooring desirable but not essential
- Passion for home furnishings and design, with the ability to generate new ideas to inspire customers
- Proven ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet agreed goals and deadlines
- Clear communication skills, able to explain concepts verbally and visually
- Must be 18 years old or over (Health and Safety requirement)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow work briefs agreed with colleagues to implement all store media, such as wall constructions, podiums, fixtures, floor laying, painting and the building of complex furniture installations.
- Plan and order materials and resources, ensuring accurate costs are sought and agreed to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
- Work with colleagues to keep the store in excellent shape to inspire customers.
- Focus on key tasks to meet the needs and expectations of store visitors and minimise disruption when working on the shop floor.
- Maintain safety at all times while working on the shop floor and take fast action when safety is compromised.
