HGV Technician

Overview

Responsibilities

• Working independently, managing your day‑to‑day workload, carrying out scheduled body maintenance and servicing, repairs and breakdowns, and managing external maintenance providers.
• Supporting the commercial depot with compliance and service schedules.
• Running diagnostics on vehicles; knowledge of Texa equipment desired, but training will be provided.
• Performing hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, engine and aftertreatment diagnostics and repairs.
• Working within Health & Safety regulations and being responsible for your safety and those around you.
• Completing roadside repairs when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working on waste disposal vehicles (desirable).
• Hold an HGV driving licence (desirable).
• Experience diagnosing complex electrical/hydraulic faults.
• Must have own tools.
• Hold a current IRTEC licence (desirable).
• Hold a Level3 in HGV maintenance and repair or equivalent apprenticeship and time served.
