Job Details

Salary: Grade 3 SCP 3 (Pro rata)

Contract Type: Fixed term for 1 calendar year

Working Pattern: Term time only

Location: Sheddingdean School

Interviews: w/c 29th June 2026

What You Need to Succeed

Qualities we are looking for in our Learning Support Assistants:

Person Specification – Essential

  • Experience working with children (EYFS/KS1 preferred).
  • Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in groups.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Patient and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding.

Person Specification – Desirable

  • Relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification.
  • Experience supporting SEND pupils.
  • Knowledge of phonics and early years development.
  • First Aid training (or willingness).

General Requirements

  • Uphold the school’s values and ethos.
  • Attend training and development.
  • Follow all school policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
