Family Paralegal / Solicitor
A growing and ambitious law firm based in Rayleigh is seeking a Family Paralegal or Family Solicitor to join its expanding Family Law Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a varied caseload of family law matters while playing an active role in the continued growth and success of the department. Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of family law matters appropriate to your level of qualification and experience.
- Assisting clients with divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, cohabitation disputes, and domestic abuse matters.
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, witness statements, and court applications.
- Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, experts, and third parties.
- Attending court hearings, client meetings, and mediations where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supporting business development, networking activities, and the continued growth of the Family Law Department.
Requirements
For Paralegal Applicants:
- Previous experience working within a family law department.
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures and documentation.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
For Solicitor Applicants:
- Qualified Solicitor
- Experience handling a range of private family law matters.
- Strong client care and case management skills.
- Advocacy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
