Specialist Support Worker (Male only) – Claridge Road, Manchester

Role: Specialist Support Worker (Male only)

Salary: £13.85 per hour (£28,808 per annum)

Location: Claridge Road, Manchester

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Sunday. 7 day shift pattern including sleep ins.

About the role

SignHealth is a deaf‑led charity committed to creating a future where there are no barriers to good health and well‑being for deaf people. The service at Claridge Road, Manchester supports clients who are deaf with complex needs and/or mental health conditions.

As a key worker, you will support a specific client with independent living skills, emotional support, medication monitoring, and ensure safety, privacy and dignity in accordance with CQC regulations and organisational policies.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with varying degrees of deafness, including those who are culturally deaf
  • British Sign Language (BSL) or a willingness to learn BSL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions where diagnosis is complex and may present challenging behaviour
  • Experience of working in supported living services or residential care services
