Facilities Management including Cleaning Caretaker Newmarket, Suffolk Up to £13.21 / hour

About the Role

Based at Moulton CEVC Primary School, Newmarket, CB8 8PR, you will be working 17.5 hours a week, split shifts Monday – Friday from 06:30am – 07:30am and 04:00pm – 06:30pm, 44 weeks per year. Your role is to provide high‑quality caretaking services by maintaining diligence in cleaning, maintenance, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties: hoovering, mopping, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, and cleaning toilets.
• Act as custodian: unlock and lock school premises.
• Conduct compliance testing: weekly fire alarm checks, monthly water temperature checks, monthly emergency lighting tests, weekly flushing, monthly visual fire extinguisher checks, and empty outside bins.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Attention to detail to meet thorough cleaning and maintenance standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following health and safety procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; experience in a similar setting is desirable.
• A team player who makes decisions aligned with Vertas values and responds positively to change.

Work Schedule & Compensation

Part‑time. Salary up to £13.21 per hour. The position requires 44 weeks of employment per year, including split shifts Monday to Friday.
