About the Role
- Full‑time Higher Level Teaching Assistant role starting September
- Working within a supportive mainstream primary school in Weymouth
- Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 (dependent on experience)
- Delivering planned lessons, small group activities and targeted interventions
- Providing classroom support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Supporting children with SEND, including ASC, SEMH, communication needs and additional learning needs
- Leading small group sessions and 1:1 interventions
- Supporting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
- Covering classes when required, following school planning and expectations
- Working closely with teachers, SEND staff and the wider school team
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or experienced Teaching Assistant
- Strong experience supporting children within a primary school environment
- Experience working with pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Confidence delivering lessons, interventions and structured learning activities
- A good understanding of safeguarding, behaviour support and inclusive education
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach
- A calm, organised and adaptable approach to classroom support
