Your Role
Stockport Council has an exciting opportunity available as a Business Administration Apprentice within the School Places, Admissions and Transport Team.
Our small yet hard working team are looking for someone new to join them. We are precise, honest, fair, and value the relationships we have with schools, our colleagues and each other.
The role is primarily administrative and relies on good communication with residents, schools and other teams within the Council to ensure the children of Stockport have access to education, and we offer a fair and sustainable school transport service. You will be a hardworking, flexible individual with strong organisational skills, resilient and quick‑thinking and a good communicator with proficient IT skills.
As part of your role, you will be trained and supported in a Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship; undertaking a range of administrative and business support duties.
About You
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good level of literacy and numeracy
- Ability to work flexibly
- Proficient IT skills
- GCSE in English and Maths

The School Places, Admissions and Transport Team are responsible for planning sufficient school places, school admissions/appeals and school transport.
We provide a dedicated service to residents seeking school places and process over ten thousand school place applications a year.
