Cygnet Health Care was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales. Service Line: Mental Health Adults (Female Acute services). Salary: £34,527 per year. Contract Duration: Fixed term from now until Dec 2027.

Site: Cygnet Woking/Woking Lodge – a 94‑bedded hospital with a variety of wards, including two locked rehab wards (male), two low secure services (male and female), three acute wards (male and two female), and a PICU (female). The facility houses a gym, ADL kitchen, Recovery College, Hair Salon, library, tuck‑shop and other therapeutic spaces.

Within this role you will provide assessment and treatment of occupational needs on the female acute ward (Kahlo) under the supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist. You may hold supervisory responsibility for others and be expected to take a leadership role in specific projects. An integral part of this role will be supporting student education within the team.

As part of a multi‑disciplinary team you will work collaboratively with psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, mental health support workers and ward admin staff. You will be supported and work alongside qualified OTs, OTAs and activity coordinators.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. We provide support to each other across the group, offering specialist interest groups and involvement in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence‑based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participation in service model development.

Preceptorship & Induction

We offer a 12‑month Occupational Therapy preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy skills, recognising the challenges brought by the pandemic.

Requirements
