Overview

Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with part‑time options available down to 12 hours.

Availability windows

  • Sun: 13:00 – 23:00
  • Fri: 19:00 – 23:00
  • Sat: 14:00 – 19:00

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver customers’ orders, interact with clients, and provide excellent service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organised.
  • Keeping the back yard tidy and clearing any litter.
  • Washing trays as part of the tray wash process.
  • Loading the van and checking it for roadworthiness.
  • Communicating with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds.
  • Treating products and deliveries with care.
  • Delivering within the customer’s time slot.
  • Calling the customer before arrival if early.
  • Informing the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late.

Qualities & requirements

We look for candidates who:

  • Build relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit.

  • Act quickly to meet changing customer needs.
  • Are energetic and driven to exceed expectations.
  • Share ideas to improve customer experience.
  • Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
