About the Role
GSL Education South Yorkshire are looking for an Admin or Attendance Officer to support the smooth day-to-day running of a secondary school in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a busy school setting. You will help maintain accurate records, support attendance procedures, and provide a professional first point of contact for students, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate student attendance and administrative records.
- Monitor daily attendance and follow school procedures for absences and lateness.
- Communicate professionally with parents, carers and external agencies where required.
- Provide general administrative support to the school office.
- Welcome visitors and respond to enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ensure records and documentation are kept up to date and handled confidentially.
Requirements
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within an educational setting, is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and school management systems where applicable.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- A professional, reliable and approachable manner.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up‑to‑date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
- Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
