About the Role

Are you enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about inspiring young minds? Join Young Engineers Worcester as a STEM Teaching Assistant Apprentice and help deliver engaging, hands‑on STEM learning through after‑school and weekend clubs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real classroom experience while working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

What You’ll Be Doing

As a STEM Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will:

  • Assist with planning and preparing learning activities
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom
  • Support pupils in achieving learning goals (e.g., guided reading, activities)
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to instructors
  • Assist with behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Carry out basic administrative tasks
  • Help deliver fun, hands‑on STEM sessions that inspire curiosity and learning

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children (schools, clubs, youth work, etc.)
  • Confident, energetic communicator and positive role model
  • Reliable, organised, and passionate about education
  • Ability to work after‑school hours and weekends
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

Requirements

  • Must complete a DBS check and safeguarding training before starting
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and company procedures
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Support the wellbeing of children and staff
  • Work in line with Ofsted requirements
  • Report any safeguarding concerns immediately
  • Paid travel time to and from the school
  • Minimum of 16 hours per week
  • Full STEM curriculum and session training provided
  • All materials and equipment supplied
