Location: Tor View Community Special School, Clod Lane, Haslingden, Rossendale, BB4 6LR (279 on roll).

Site Supervisor & Driver (Grade C).

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Supervisor and Driver to join our site team. Working 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday to Thursday and 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervisor

  • Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Work collaboratively with the site team to ensure the school buildings and grounds are well maintained.
  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door handles, and unblocking sinks.
  • Ensure the effective operation of heating, lighting, and security systems.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including clearing pathways, managing waste disposal, and ensuring playgrounds and car parks are safe.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are replenished as needed.
  • Act as a key holder, responsible for securing the premises and responding to any emergencies.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, including COSHH requirements.
  • Support with deep cleaning and site maintenance during school closures or holiday periods.

Driver

  • Drive a range of vehicles, including specially adapted and commercial vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient transport of pupils and staff.
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and clean.
  • Assist passengers, including securing wheelchairs and supporting safe entry and exit from the vehicle.
  • Load and unload goods safely, utilising lifting equipment when necessary.
  • Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or mechanical issues in accordance with school procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Support school trips and community activities as required.
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures and promote pupil well-being at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

A D1 licence is required for minibus duties. Local area knowledge is beneficial. Must be a reliable and safety‑conscious individual with experience in ensuring a clean, safe, and well‑managed school environment.
