Higher Level Teaching Assistant EYFS and Inclusion

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about Early Years education and inclusion. Working alongside the EYFS Lead, SENCo and Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional teaching and learning, leading high‑quality interventions and ensuring every child can flourish.
Qualifications
- Holds HLTA status or an equivalent Level 4 qualification.
- Has significant experience of working within EYFS.
- Has a secure understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework and child development.
- Is passionate about giving every child the very best start in life.
- Understands the importance of communication and language development, purposeful play, school readiness and high‑quality interactions.
- Has experience of supporting children with a range of additional needs.
- Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Has high expectations for all children and is committed to inclusive practice.
- Shares and promotes the Christian vision and values of St Paul’s C of E Academy.
- Has strong communication skills which show integrity in the workplace by being honest, trustworthy and transparent while also acknowledging the needs of others and showing empathy.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning across Reception and Key Stage 1, including providing whole‑class cover when required.
- Support the delivery of an ambitious, language‑rich curriculum that develops children’s communication, language, early reading, writing and mathematics.
- Lead high‑quality interventions that accelerate progress and help children achieve their full potential.
- Promote children’s independence, curiosity and confidence through engaging learning experiences and purposeful play.
- Work alongside the EYFS lead and SENCo to champion inclusive practice, ensuring barriers to learning are removed and every child can participate, succeed and flourish within a fully inclusive school community.
- Build positive relationships with families and external professionals to secure the very best outcomes for children.
- Contribute fully to the wider life of the academy.

Hours: 31 hours per week, Time‑time plus 5 days
Grade: Grade E SCP 18 – 25 – £31,537 – £36,363 p.a. (Actual salary £23,614 – £27,811 p.a.)
