Job Overview
Deputy Security Manager will support daily security operations at Grain LNG. Working Monday to Friday, 50 hours a week.
Responsibilities
- Support the security manager in delivering 24/7 security operations at National Grid Grain LNG.
- Assist in managing, utilising and operating all security‑related systems required on the contract.
- Provide operational guidance to security officers, ensuring that the contracts security needs and responsibilities are met to the highest standards.
- Liaise with and support all services on the contract to exceed client expectations.
- Respond to, support, and maintain the highest standard of security and innovation on the contract.
- Take personal responsibility in relation to the client, colleagues and company reputation.
- Engage staff throughout the 21‑day shift pattern to ensure the highest standards of welfare and service.
- Be fully conversant with the layout of the contract and be aware of current threats and challenges; train, advise and update security officers.
- Take operational ownership of rota, holidays and sickness tracking.
- Respond to all aspects of the contract’s emergency response (fire and alarm systems) and act as command and control when necessary.
- Drive and deliver training linked to operational needs.
- Be fully conversant with the contracts Assignment Instructions, emergency evacuation and major incident response procedures and keep the security officers and teams updated.
- Update and maintain the Assignment Instructions and develop emergency evacuation and major incident response procedures.
- Patrol and support the security team using own initiative in response to day‑to‑day running of the contract.
- Be a visible and trusted leader and manager.
- Support recruitment, induction and development of staff to the highest standards.
- Maintain all written records and reporting in a correct and timely fashion.
- Deliver and maintain training and individual records of all Security Officers.
- Report as necessary any Health and Safety issues or incidents following the correct escalation procedure.
Qualifications
- Experience in security guarding or door supervision.
- Experience operating CCTV systems.
- Ability to obtain or hold SC clearance.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and emergency response procedures.
Systems and Compliance
- Operate and manage all contract‑related security systems.
- Ensure compliance with Mitie’s information security procedures.
- Report actual or suspected security incidents.
- Use PPE and equipment correctly and report deficiencies.Stay up‑to‑date with relevant legislation and company policies.
