HGV Driver

Pertemps Maidstone is seeking a skilled HGV Driver (Class 1 or 2) to join their permanent removals and logistics team in Aylesford. This full‑time role offers a salary between £16 and £17 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Role

This role involves driving large goods vehicles (Cat C or CE) and supporting relocation services. You will load, operate, and unload furniture and goods, ensuring safe transport of customers’ belongings.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV vehicles (Class 1/2 – Cat C or CE) for household and commercial removals
• Transport, load and unload furniture and goods safely
• Work as a Removals Driver / Logistics Driver delivering relocation services
• Supervise and assist team members, including Removals Porters, Van Loaders, and Removal Assistants
• Support packing and handling as part of a moving operative / removals team
• Deliver excellent customer service during relocations and ensure all items are securely loaded and protected during transit

Requirements

• Valid HGV/LGV licence (Category C or C E / Cat CE)
• Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Experience as an HGV Driver, Class 1 Driver, Class 2 Driver, LGV Driver, Delivery Driver (HGV), or Transport Driver
• Ability to undertake physical duties including loading and unloading
• Experience in removals, logistics, multi‑drop, or transport environments is advantageous
• Good communication and teamwork skills; reliable and professional approach

Desirable

• Background as a Removals Driver, Relocation Driver, or Furniture Removal Driver
• Experience working alongside Driver’s Mates, Removals Operatives, or Loaders
• Knowledge of packing, manual handling, and furniture protection techniques
