What you will do

  • Support the Team Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the Family Help Team, ensuring the delivery of statutory children’s services.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional guidance to Social Workers, ASYEs, and Family Support Workers.
  • Oversee and quality assure casework across Early Help, Child in Need, Child Protection, and care proceedings to maintain high standards.
  • Lead on complex cases, providing safeguarding oversight and contributing to key decisions to ensure child safety.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Completion of ASYE programme.
  • Relevant leadership or supervisory training is desirable.

Registration and Compliance

  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Public Law Outline.
  • Understanding of safeguarding frameworks, Early Help, and contextual safeguarding practices.
