We’re partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit an experienced Site Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a background in electrical, mechanical or building services who enjoys seeing projects through to completion. Working on large-scale data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects, you’ll take ownership of commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested, validated and handed over to the highest standards.

The Opportunity
As a Site Commissioning Engineer, you’ll lead commissioning activities from planning through to final handover, ensuring electrical and mechanical systems are installed, tested and commissioned safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.
Working closely with project teams, contractors and clients, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects on time and to specification.
What you’ll be doing:
- Planning and coordinating commissioning activities across major projects.
- Carrying out and witnessing FATs, SATs and integrated systems testing.
- Commissioning electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators and PDUs.
- Testing mechanical systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps and cooling systems.
- Supporting commissioning of BMS, EPMS and fire detection systems.
- Identifying and resolving commissioning issues while maintaining quality standards.
- Producing commissioning reports and technical documentation.
- Supporting client training, handover and project closeout.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience within commissioning, MEP, construction, facilities or building services.
- Previous involvement in data centre, industrial or other mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical building systems.
- Ability to manage commissioning programmes and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or a time-served electrician.
Desirable:
- CIBSE or ASHRAE commissioning qualifications.
- Uptime Institute ATS accreditation.
- CSCS, SMSTS, 18th Edition or City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
