Your new role As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial management of major civil engineering projects while overseeing and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered successfully from both a financial and contractual responsibilities will include:
- Leading the commercial function across multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Managing, mentoring and developing a commercial team.
- Overseeing project budgets, forecasts, valuations and cost reporting.
- Preparing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts and commercial agreements.
- Managing variations, claims, compensation events and final accounts.
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout project lifecycles.
- Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Providing strategic commercial guidance to senior management.
What you’ll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Significant experience within the civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities sector.
- Previous experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor position.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Full UK driving licence.
