We are currently seeking to recruit a first‑rate lawyer to join our Tax Litigation & Investigations department.

The department is experiencing significant expansion, driven by an increase in work relating to tax tribunal cases, alongside a growing volume of high profile civil and criminal tax investigations. This presents an excellent opportunity for career progression and exposure to complex, technically challenging matters.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years’ PQE, with experience representing taxpayers in enquiries and investigations opened by HMRC;
- expertise in both civil and criminal tax investigations, including Code of Practice 8 and Code of Practice 9 matters;
- strong technical knowledge of direct and indirect taxes and duties;
- experience advising on complex tax issues;
- experience advising and representing clients in criminal investigations by HMRC or other investigative bodies;
- experience of acting in cases before the tax tribunal is preferred;
- the ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, managing a varied caseload;
- excellent communication and drafting skills, with a high level of attention to detail;
- enthusiasm, professionalism, and a motivation to deliver the highest levels of client care; and
- a strong academic background.
