Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead a large‑scale enterprise data transformation programme involving the migration from Snowflake to Databricks. This role will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of the programme, ensuring successful execution across multiple workstreams while aligning business objectives with technical delivery.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex cloud data platform migrations, leading cross‑functional teams, engaging senior stakeholders, and delivering large‑scale transformation programmes within agreed scope, budget, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery of the Snowflake to Databricks migration programme.
- Define and manage the programme roadmap, delivery plan, milestones, and critical success criteria.
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams including Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, QA, and Infrastructure teams.
- Establish programme governance, delivery frameworks, reporting structures, and controls.
- Drive discovery workshops, business analysis, requirements gathering, and scope definition.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
- Manage programme budgets, forecasting, resource allocation, and capacity planning.
- Oversee solution design and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
- Track programme dependencies across multiple workstreams and delivery teams.
- Identify, assess, manage, and mitigate programme risks, issues, and assumptions.
- Maintain RAID logs and ensure timely resolution of programme challenges.
- Produce regular programme status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.
- Facilitate steering committees, governance meetings, stakeholder reviews, and programme checkpoints.
- Ensure delivery milestones, quality standards, and project objectives are consistently achieved.
- Oversee data migration strategy, execution planning, cutover activities, and validation.
- Ensure data quality, reconciliation, testing, and migration verification activities are successfully completed.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across business, technology, and executive leadership teams.
- Manage programme change requests, scope governance, and delivery priorities.
- Ensure compliance with security, data governance, regulatory, and organisational standards.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors, implementation partners, and external suppliers where required.
- Foster collaboration across geographically distributed delivery teams.
- Promote continuous improvement, retrospective reviews, and lessons learned throughout the programme lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing enterprise data platform or cloud migration programmes.
- Strong understanding of Snowflake, Databricks, and modern cloud‑based data architectures.
- Experience delivering cloud migration projects within Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Strong programme governance, budgeting, financial management, and resource planning experience.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and complex dependencies.
- Excellent stakeholder management with experience engaging C‑level executives and senior business leaders.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing RAID logs, programme reporting, governance forums, and steering committees.
- Strong risk management, issue resolution, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience working with globally distributed delivery teams.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering Snowflake to Databricks migration programmes.
- Agile certification (SAFe, Scrum Master, AgilePM, or equivalent).
- Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Retail, Healthcare, or other enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with data engineering, ETL/ELT, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
