Compliance Officer – Building Compliance & Safety

Permanent. Grade C- £35,412 – £44,075. Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Equal Pay Programme. Working 36.5 hours per week.

This position is to support the Senior Compliance Manager in driving the Council’s success in meeting its statutory health and safety obligations as a responsible landlord whilst continuously striving to improve the safety of its residents, properties, compliance, and stock condition. As a member of a small professional team delivering a technical service (e.g. Asbestos, Electrical, Gas, Fire, Mechanical, Water Hygiene) your role will be pivotal in providing senior management with assurance that statutory compliance requirements within its residential stock are being effectively managed.

You will be directed and supported by a Compliance Manager to ensure and assure robust programmes and plans with effective monitoring and management of contractors. These programmes and plans will be based on accurate stock data and information, with key performance indicators tailored to deliver results for all parties. This position plays a crucial role in the delivery of management surveys, reinspections, ongoing management, and post‑work inspections, and an acceptable level of demonstrable compliance is being both achieved and maintained, through quality data and evidence to support all related activities. Your role will be to assist the Council to remain at the forefront of industry standards by delivering a high‑quality asset management service and contributing to a culture of trust, by creating a working environment that is supportive and high‑performing.
