We are currently recruiting a Structural Design Engineer on a permanent basis for an independently owned multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in Leicester.

Our client operates across several markets and offers full in-house design services to the commercial, leisure, manufacturing, and education sector.

They are open to hybrid working arrangements and are committed to helping their staff progress their career in a professional and academic capacity.

The Structural Design Engineer Role

• Knowledge of design and analysis software like Tekla, StaadPro, and Tedds
• Prepare and check drawings, calculations, and risk assessments
• Focus will be on hands‑on design with a range of materials as well as assisting with client contact, site visits and managing your workload
• Communicate as part of a team and work well in a team and independent environment.
• You will be expected to forge relationships with clients, local authorities and other members of the design team and represent the company at meetings and site visits.

The Ideal Candidate

• You will have graduated with BEng or MEng in structural Engineering and have at least 3 years’ experience working as a Structural Engineer.
• 3 years+ experience in the buildings industry
• Approaching Chartership or chartered MICE or ISTUCTE
• Several years’ experience working in a consulting engineering environment creating models.
• Experience in the detailing of steel and concrete
• Experience in structural design of commercial/ Industrial /Education will be additional strength
• A passion for engineering excellence, and a desire to embrace new and innovative thinking.
