Engineering Manager (Cloud)

Engineering Manager (Cloud) | London | Hybrid

This is a people‑first leadership role focused on cloud strategy, reliability, security governance, and scaling engineering at a high‑traffic consumer platform. You will shape cloud strategy and enable hundreds of engineers to deliver at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team across cloud infrastructure, security, governance, and FinOps
• Own platform reliability, disaster‑recovery planning, incident management, and observability
• Drive automation, IaC, and Policy‑as‑Code to reduce toil and strengthen governance
• Work closely with a Platform Product Manager on roadmap and OKRs
• Manage vendor relationships and cloud spend optimisation

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing cloud platform/infrastructure teams in a product‑led environment
• Hands‑on background with GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Elasticsearch, CDN/WAF
• Strong grasp of cloud security, IAM, and governance frameworks
• Leadership ability to coach and develop engineers instead of micromanaging
• FinOps mindset and experience embedding cost‑efficiency culture
